This existing 9 story commercial office building underwent a redesign to be transformed into a 15 story apartment complex in 2007 and was mothballed when the GFC hit. Now in 2015, Marty Kells Developments has purchased the building and kicked the project back into gear. The existing building will be stripped back to its concrete skeleton, strengthened and have 6 additional floors added. It will have internal balconies added and be re clad in a curtain wall system. Internally the building will receive a new fit-out to create 63, two bedroom apartments.

SUMMIT Construction were introduced to the project earl on to provide a Market based Budget Estimate followed by extensive Value Engineering. One of the key outcomes of this process was the introduction of a Curtain Wall system in place of the original frame and cavity cladding system. While the Curtain Wall system is close to cost neutral, it is considered a premium product and provided considerable time advantages.
In addition to this, the SUMMIT team applied there knowledge of apartment construction to ensure the fit-out and services design were optimal.
